State Finals entry forms are available under State Finals. Remember entries must be postmarked by May 22. No late entries will be accepted and fees must be paid with money order or cashier check.
If you are entering the queens contest, please be sure to complete the forms on the queens page and check queens contest on state finals entry form and postmark by May 22.
State Finals Board of Directors meeting will held Friday June 7th after the performance. Any individual wishing to be placed on the agenda needs to contact Myra Skinner before June 1.
If you are interested in running for student officer please email Myra by June 1 with position wishing to run for.
Student directors: If you have not turned in your donation please do so asap.
The following adult directors positions will open for the 2013-2014 season: pole bending, cutting, saddle bronc, and president.
Seniors: Bring a signed sealed transcript that includes 8 semesters to your interview at State Finals. If you will ask the school for a signed sealed transcript you should receive the correct paper work. Do not open the envelope. If you are unsure about this please contact Myra after 4PM.

NMHSRA Members and Parents:
As you may be aware of, there has been much effort to build our NM High School Rodeo Senior Scholarship Fund each year in order to give back as much as possible to
graduating Seniors in the form of year-end scholarships. The ‘Scholarship Cash-Out’ Dinner that was held last spring, combined with Director sponsorship commitment as well as a few outside donations from businesses, helped us give out close to $30,000 in scholarship to 25 qualifying Senior High School Rodeo participants.
We are working on building this years’ fund, which will directly benefit our 2013 graduating Seniors. The monies collected from our scholarship drives held each year are ALL fully awarded back to graduating Seniors as scholarships at the NMHSRA Finals. Nothing is held over from year to year.
2013 SENIORS:
Because you as Seniors will benefit directly from all of the 2013 scholarship funds raised on your behalf, the NMHSRA Directors and Scholarship Committee is asking YOU to
sell as many tickets for our ‘Cash-Out’ Donation Dinner/Dance as you can. We are requiring you to try to sell at least two tickets, but would really like you to sell three.
We realize these are $100 tickets, but, they are not hard to sell to people in your own communities who support High School Rodeo and, an added benefit is that those buying tickets will be eligible to win money back (see payout outline below). We are adding an incentive for you Seniors—if you are able to sell three tickets, we
will guarantee that you receive $100 of the ticket sells back as additional scholarship reward at the Finals, above and beyond the scholarship amount you
are awarded. Remember, you still have to fill out your NMHSRA Scholarship application, submit it on time and be
prepared to interview at the finals.
ALL OTHER MEMBERS: Because you will eventually benefit from effort such as this when you are a graduating Senior, we are asking all other NMHSRA members to sell at least ONE ticket. If there are more than one member per family, and one is NOT a graduating Senior, we are asking for the family to vouch for one ticket sell.
Please help us help you by raising these funds! We are in this for you—the graduating Senior, so commit to this effort and HELP raise your money. I am
also asking each Senior to try and come up with three nice door prizes to be given out at the Scholarship Dinner. So, PLEASE get busy! If you have questions/comments/concerns and/or suggestions, feel free to contact Leigh Ann Marez, 575-799-0504, and…. HELP READILY ACCEPTED FROM ANY WILLING PARENT (S).

If you will be needing hotel accommodations, please make your reservations soon as rooms are limited in the Hobbs and Lovington area. State Finals reservation form are available. Please complete one form per family.
